OSScamp is a series of community-driven unconferences targeted specifically at promoting FOSS implementation and development in India. It is India's largest unconference on open source. They bring together the best brains and the most passionate technologists and enthusiasts under one roof and create a platform for sharing best practices, experiences, and knowledge.
Organised with OSI Tech Days 2009, OSScamp Chennai will see It professionals, Enthusiasts and Students come together to discuss and shape the future of open source in India.

Venue
The venue for the camp is Chennai Trade Center. Chennai Trade Center The Chennai Trade Centre (CTC) is set up at a prime location in the Chennai metro at Nandambakkam, adjacent to St. Thomas Mount in an area of over2 5 acres of land with exhibition halls and support services. CTC has three halls – Hall No.1 (4,400 sq. mtrs), Hall No. 2 (1, 760 sq.mtrs.) and Hall No. 3 (4,400 sq.mtrs) with six meters height to display all merchandise including machinery. The Trade Centre is architecturally and technically designed to be a “state-of-the-art” Exhibition Complex. The Air – Conditioned halls, with no intermittent pillars or columns, are eminently suitable for multi-purpose use of organizing exhibitions, conferences, conventions and conducting other trade, commerce and industry-related events. All the halls are inter-linked and Hall No. 3 is connected with convention centre. More.

Tracks
There are no set tracks at OSScamps. Campers are encouraged to discuss everything open source and the inter-dependecne and inter-operability of technologies. The camp will see participant-contributed talks ranging on a number of FOSS issues including:
- hackathon: "RIA Widget Development using Adobe Flex", organised by Chipkidz
- using various FOSS Tools for productivity and profit
- how-tos on specific technologies
- emerging FOSS tools and technologies
- licensing and business issues
- empowerment with FOSS
- Freedom FTW!
John Smedley, Senior Architect, Ingres Corporation will also participate at the camp. Some of the topics he will cover include:
