The Future of Web Apps : HTML5 and CSS3

HTML5 is a huge evolution for the web in itself. I'll be introducing the new things which will be usefull for web developers in HTML5, many of which you can use today. Apart from that, there are other standards and technologies which have been grouped as HTML5, but are not part of the HTML5 specification. Yet they are exciting technologies, and I'll showcase them as well. Apart from that, I'll also introduce you to the new developments in CSS3, and what all modern browsers are supporting right now. We'll also take a look at what faster JavaScript engines mean for the Web. Almost all things I introduce or explain, will be accompanied by live demos of those standards/technologies.

Open source is an approach to the design, development, and distribution of software, offering practical accessibility to a software's source code. Some consider open source as one of various possible design approaches, while others consider it a critical strategic element of their operations. Before open source became widely adopted, developers and producers used a variety of phrases to describe the concept; the term open source gained popularity with the rise of the Internet, which provided access to diverse production models, communication paths, and interactive communities.

Software development costs in organizations have been touted as being approximately 15% of total costs. This indicates that the value of one over another development methodology is more of a marketing decision (which customers and pricing models) as much as it is about the design of software. The open source model of operation and decision making allows concurrent input of different agendas, approaches and priorities, and differs from the more closed, centralized models of development.[1] The principles and practices are commonly applied to the peer production development of source code for software that is made available for public collaboration. The result of this peer-based collaboration is usually released as open-source software, however, open source methods are increasingly being applied in other fields of endeavor, such as biotechnology.

A place for all your passwords

How many times have you simply forgot your login to a site? Or, entered the wrong password for your netbanking account just to see it get blocked? Having one password for all our accounts is an ideal situation, but the restrictions that websites put on users while choosing their username/password does not always allow us to do this.

USB Modem in RHEL5

Network Connection Window

The wireless USB Modem device had been available in India and now has major market place. The vendor company and service provider has included necessary software tools for Windows users only. There is need of more support for Linux. I had already tested the device connectivity in Mandriva Linux 2009 and that were published.
